AFS Community Service Program participants travel to different parts of the world and volunteer to work at local organizations that address community needs, such as helping street children or developing training programs with human rights workers, work on environmental or educational or sustainable development projects. Projects vary by hosting country and participants’ interests.
Community service programs give you the chance to gain a real life experience through volunteering and making a difference in people’s lives, cultivate strong bonds with your host family and friends and improve a new language skills while giving back to a community.
