8/5/2008 - Ahmed Desouky YES 06-07 Came in First Place in Thanaweya Amma
Ahmed Fayez Desouky, Egyptian AFS returnee and YES alumns 06-07, recently came in first place nationwide in Thanaweya Amma, the final Egyptian graduating certificate from secondary school.
Desouky, who is legally blind, was a participant on the YES program in 2006-2007 and was an excellent ambassador for his country in Kansas, USA. He was hosted with the Christopher family during his one year exchange program in Kansas.
When interviewed on Egypt’s TV programme “AL Ashera Masaa” on Dream TV, the first thing he mentioned was his year with AFS/YES and how it has changed his life and motivated him. H.E. Minister of Education also called him to congratulate him personally and present him with his prize.
Congratulations to Ahmed on his achievement and for continuing to be an excellent YES representative.
